By: Charles Shiver
Cook County Family Connection has recently received a $75,000 grant award from the Georgia Department of Community Health to promote collaborative networking in rural health. Through this funding, the Cook County collaborative will continue to build and strengthen their health initiatives while also working jointly with the Brooks County Family Connection collaborative to help them build their leadership capacity to begin addressing health issues in their community. The work will include community health assessments, leadership trainings, strategic work sessions, and cross-county collaboration. During the next year, more than 50 partners from Cook and Brooks counties will work jointly to assess health needs, pursue available resources, and develop strategies for improved health opportunities.
